Restaurants in Knightsbridge for an Escort Date: Hotels, Tables and Bars by Hyde Park

Walking times from the hotels by Hyde Park to the restaurants in Knightsbridge worth booking, with bars for a drink first and where to go after ten.

Table for two at dusk beside a window overlooking the trees of Hyde Park in Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge is small enough to plan on foot. Hyde Park is a few streets north of Harrods, and the V&A no more than 13 minutes’ walk west. Every hotel in this guide, and every one of the restaurants in Knightsbridge we would book, lies within about a quarter of an hour’s walk of Harrods.

Harrods trades on Brompton Road until 9pm from Monday to Saturday. If you are staying at a hotel in London, Harrods will send your shopping from the till to the concierge the same day. That leaves the evening free.

Settle two things before you travel. Stay at Bulgari or the Mandarin Oriental, since every restaurant in the table below is eight minutes or less from either. And if you are dining at the weekend, book ahead.

Knightsbridge in one evening: the walking times

We checked each walk on three different route planners on 25 September 2026, and each cell shows the range, to the nearest minute.

Minutes on foot from Zuma Mr Chow Dinner by Heston and The Aubrey La Môme London Harrods
Bulgari Hotel London 1 to 2 1 3 to 4 7 to 8 3 to 5
The Knightsbridge Hotel 7 8 to 9 9 to 10 12 to 13 4 to 6
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park 4 to 5 2 In the hotel 4 to 5 5 to 6
Jumeirah Carlton Tower 8 to 10 7 to 9 7 8 to 9 6 to 9
The Berkeley 8 to 9 6 to 7 4 to 5 In the hotel 8 to 10
The Lanesborough 10 to 12 9 to 10 7 3 11 to 12

The Berkeley and The Lanesborough sit towards Hyde Park Corner, further from Brompton Road but only about five and seven minutes from the Mandarin Oriental’s restaurants.

Hotels near Harrods and Hyde Park

These are the hotels in Knightsbridge we would look at first.

Bulgari Hotel London, at 171 Knightsbridge, is the closest hotel to Zuma and Mr Chow, a minute or two from each. It has a 25-metre pool.

The Knightsbridge Hotel, at 10 Beaufort Gardens, suits a stay built around shopping and dinners out. It is a Firmdale townhouse on a leafy side street. Meals are served in the Drawing Room or the Library, each with a working fireplace, and the Library has an honesty bar.

If you would rather not walk far, choose the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, at 66 Knightsbridge. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, The Aubrey, The Rosebery for afternoon tea and the Mandarin Bar are all inside. It describes itself as sitting “both on Knightsbridge and in Hyde Park”.

Jumeirah Carlton Tower, on Cadogan Place, is “a stone’s throw from Sloane Street’s designer boutiques”, as the hotel puts it, and guests have a key to Cadogan Gardens. It suits an evening that leans towards Chelsea, with Sloane Square 10 to 12 minutes away on foot.

The Berkeley stands on the corner of Knightsbridge and Wilton Place, overlooking Hyde Park, on the Belgravia side of the neighbourhood and five or six minutes from Pétrus. La Môme London and The Berkeley Bar & Terrace are both in the hotel.

For an evening that moves on to Mayfair, we would choose The Lanesborough on Hyde Park Corner, the closest of the six hotels to Mayfair. The hotel asks for smart casual throughout.

Restaurants in Knightsbridge worth booking

Dinner by Heston opens reservations three months to the day in advance, and Zuma two months ahead.

For a first dinner

Zuma, on Raphael Street, is the original Zuma, set, in its own words, “down a quiet street” in Knightsbridge. For a first dinner we would ask for counter seating, side by side facing the chefs at the robata grill and sushi counter. The counter gives the conversation somewhere to rest. Dinner runs from 6pm to 11pm, or 10.30pm on Sundays, and the dress code is smart casual.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, inside the Mandarin Oriental, holds two Michelin stars and draws its menu from historic British gastronomy. It is the more formal evening and the earlier one. Dinner is served from 6pm to 9pm, or 9.30pm from Friday to Sunday, the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, and the dress code is smart casual.

Mr Chow first opened in Knightsbridge on Valentine’s Day 1968, and today serves Beijing cuisine at 151 Knightsbridge. It describes itself as the first restaurant to bring out a chef pulling noodles by hand as nightly entertainment. Dinner runs from 7pm to midnight every night, which suits an evening that starts late.

La Môme London, one of The Berkeley’s dining rooms, takes its style from the French Riviera, with Mediterranean dishes made for sharing and a terrace for summer evenings. Sharing plates make a first dinner easy to pace, and the hotel advises booking ahead.

If the shopping runs late, several of Harrods’ own restaurants stay open until 10.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday, with last seating at 9.30pm. Once the store has closed, you reach them through door 8 on Brompton Road.

For a private dining room

Private dining in Knightsbridge is sized for a dinner party rather than a table for two. At Dinner by Heston, the Private Dining Room seats up to 12 and the Chef’s Table four to six, and both can be booked up to six months ahead.

Pétrus, on Kinnerton Street, holds a Michelin star and has a Chef’s Table for up to eight in the kitchen; it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The Aubrey’s private dining room seats up to 18. Harry’s Knightsbridge, on Basil Street, has the Canaletto Room, which seats 13 behind a hidden door on Hans Road.

Before dinner: a drink in the hotel bars

The Mandarin Bar, The Berkeley Bar & Terrace and the Library Bar are all in hotels on the edge of Hyde Park, within eight minutes’ walk of one another. Choose by where you are dining. Before Dinner by Heston or The Aubrey, use the Mandarin Bar; before La Môme, The Berkeley Bar & Terrace. The Library Bar suits an evening heading on to Mayfair.

If you want one answer, we would choose the Mandarin Bar. Two of this guide’s restaurants are in the same building, Mr Chow is two minutes away and Zuma four or five.

The Mandarin Bar, inside the Mandarin Oriental, is built around a rectangular, catwalk-style bar and closes at midnight, or 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Berkeley Bar & Terrace is panelled in wood from the Fulbeck Walnut, a tree that, the hotel says, fell in the Great Storm of 2007. It takes no reservations and stays open until 1am, or midnight on Sundays.

The Library Bar at The Lanesborough asks for smart casual and closes at midnight, or 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

After ten: where the evening goes next

Knightsbridge keeps shop hours. After ten, most of what stays open in this guide is inside the hotels, at The Aubrey and the three bars above. On the street, Mr Chow and Harry’s Knightsbridge stay open until midnight most nights.

Later, the evening moves on to one of two neighbours. Chelsea is about 15 minutes’ walk from Harrods down Sloane Street to Sloane Square, where the King’s Road begins. It suits a more relaxed evening.

Mayfair lies the other way, past Hyde Park Corner. Our guide to what to wear in Mayfair sets out what its dining rooms and clubs ask of you.
